26th Of April 2002 - Rendered Pics & Misc. News

I've just added 10 more images to the Rendered Pics section (spanned across multiple pages), so make sure you check them out ! After digging up some old stuff in my hard drive I accidently stumbled across them. Those pics were rendered by NJ_Thug, an old and former TA unit maker from TARAD (TA Research And Development).

In other news, Macifer informs me that the commander will NOT do anything if you use the Standard Version (NOT Standard Boost) of Mostly Harmless AI. This bug will be fixed in the next release, so for those who are trying out the Standard Version of Mostly Harmless AI, please go with the Easy/Standard/Hard boost version instead.

TAUCP 1.6 is going along very nicely, here are the list of units that have been added & removed :

Additions

  • Arm Mouse (MADTA) - Cloakable Sniper Kbot
  • Arm Bolt Thrower (TAWF) - Tachyon Assault Tank
  • Core Omega (The Dojo / Conrad Units) - Artillery Battery
  • Core Mirage (Aftermath Design) - Wreckage disguised tank
  • Core Shodan (Mayhem Inc) - High Energy Laser Tank
Removals
  • Removed Core Incinerator from Core Adv. Vehicle Plant
  • Removed Core Slicer from Core Vehicle Plant
  • Removed Core Thug from Core Adv. Vehicle Plant
  • Removed Arm & Core Water Wing from Arm & Core Shipyard
  • Removed Arm Marauder from Arm Adv. Vehicle Plant

17th Of April 2002 - It's Here : TAUCP 1.5 !

It's finally done after a lot of heavy testing, tweaking and checking and i consider this version as a major release since the original TAUCP 1.0 was released to the public. This version contains LOTS and LOTS of tweaks, bug fixing, additions and of course removals of some units to make way for the new units.

There are a total of 11 new units in this release, some of the older units have been removed and you can check it out later in the readme for the list of changes made. TAUCP 1.5 is considered to be a very balanced version compared to the previous releases and i hope you guys enjoy this new release as i've put up a LOT of effort in ensuring this version is balanced. As always, here are the files :

NOTICE : It's time to write this as many of you are so CONFUSED ! Fileplanet DOESN'T CHARGE people for downloading from their PUBLIC SERVER. They have a public and private server. Click on the links above, then just SCROLL DOWN THE PAGE and you'll see two or three PUBLIC (FREE) download links or mirrors. Private servers are NEVER busy (because you "own" it), whereas public servers MAY BE BUSY...

Don't forget to check out the TAUCP Manual after installing TAUCP as it contains all the necessary information that you need to know about TAUCP - the features, hotkeys, unit descriptions, frequently asked questions, etc. Mac users will get the Portable Document Format (PDF) version of the TAUCP Manual as well, included in the archive.

Besides all that, you may have noticed i've also added a units gallery and an in-game screenshots gallery. The units gallery will show the units (unit pictures) that are in the LATEST version of TAUCP which is 1.5 and on the other hand, the in-game screenshots shows the in-game screenshots of TAUCP, so if you want to take a look at how TAUCP looks like before downloading, head over the units gallery here or the in-game screenshots gallery here.

On a smaller note : If you clicked on the download link above and there is an error, try clicking on the link again. Sometimes FilePlanet faces heavy volumes of traffic and these kinds of errors may occur. Besides that, FilePlanet's public servers seem to be quite busy recently, and if you see a wait time on all the mirrors and the wait time isn't that long, i suggest that you click on the link and wait in-line for the download.

That's all for now, i hope you guys really enjoy this solid unit pack that i've put together, my best piece of work so far ever since i've started working in the TA community since it's early birth.

11th Of April 2002 - Next Version Info

I've decided to give out the full list of tweaks, fixes and additions for the next version of TAUCP. Here's a small excerpt of it :

  • Replaced current Nano Tower & it's pad with the ORIGINAL Nano Towers that was created by TAMMO years ago. This "new" version does NOT have the odd problem of the Nano Tower getting "stuck" underneath the nanolathe pad.
  • Core War Machine is now immune to paralyzer
  • Core Cougar is now immune to paralyzer
  • Arm Cavalier will now fire both of it's weapons simultaneously and sports a light laser as it's secondary weapon instead of a kbot missile.
  • Added Arm Drake - Very Heavy Assault Kbot to Arm High Tech Lab
  • Added Core Krogtaar - Experimental Kbot II to Core Krogoth Gantry
And that's just the tip of the iceberg. For the full list, check it out here. As you can see, i've been hard at work fine tuning TAUCP and it'll all be worth it when it is released. There is no fixed release date for this version yet, but it should be out pretty soon so keep checking back often.

1st Of April 2002 - TAUCP 1.2 Released, Maps ! It's NO Joke !

As i have promised, TAUCP 1.2 is finally here after much testing and fine tuning. The Arm Blitz unit has been reinstated and instead, Arm Dark has been removed. Besides that, there are a total of 12 new units in TAUCP 1.2 to spice up your game playing with an improved AI to boot for both Mostly Harmless and BanZai.

In conjunction with the release of TAUCP 1.2, i have made some maps while tinkering around with Annihilator. These maps that i've made are very simple and plain, but they are fun to play as there is a lot of room for large battles and sufficient resources. You can get these maps at the Maps Section. Remember to check the version history at the end of the readme file to find out what has been changed, added and/or removed :

Here are the files for PC Owners :

AND here are the files for Mac Owners :

That's not all, i have also dug up some old rendered pics that were made by NJ Thug for TAUIP few years back, but i only managed to salvage a few of them. You can get them here. This new version of TAUCP includes Krogoth-like killers by MAGMA, namely Ice Angel and Fire Angel.

If you encounter a Krogoth, Troll, Thor, Karganeth or Orcone, these are the two units that you need to take them down. You have to use the "D-GUN" (tertiary weapon) which is a missile weapon that will cause some serious damage to heavy units such as Krogoth. As always, i hope you enjoy TAUCP the same way i enjoyed making it. Don't forget to vote for TAUCP Central:)
